Onilia Jovita de León Calderón

Jovita has dedicated 23 years to teaching with the last three supporting students with special needs. Her role includes overseeing the Resource Center for Inclusive Education (CREI) for all school levels and providing pedagogical support, guidance to parents, and teacher training. Passionate about community service, Jovita volunteers with various organizations, including World Vision and Grupo Manos Unidas. She hopes to equip the resource center with the necessary tools and sees becoming a ConnectED Fellow as an opportunity to enhance support for her educational community. Jovita finds motivation in serving children and families in need. Her commitment extends to remote areas, including 24 primary schools, 8 secondary schools, and the CREI. Despite limited resources, Jovita’s impact is felt far and wide.
