José Mejía Morales

José is a dedicated educator with 21 years at Escuela Oficial Rural Mixta, Cantón Tzalamabaj Segundo Centro. As both principal and primary school teacher, José is invested in the educational well-being of his community. His educational background includes Urban Primary Education, Intercultural Bilingual Education, and a University Technician in Local Development, along with progress towards a Bachelor’s in Social Work with an emphasis in Local Development.
Outside of work, José volunteers in community development training and supports students’ educational journeys through scholarships and local initiatives. He aims to see students progress beyond primary education and advocates for infrastructure projects. Joining ConnectED, José seeks to empower his students through technology and continuous learning as an educator. José finds fulfillment in seeing happy children and grateful parents, as he views technology as a vital tool for empowering his students and enhancing their educational experience.
