Francisco Sapalú Sosof es un educador comprometido con la mejora de la educación en su comunidad. Tras haber ejercido como director, en 2025 retoma la docencia con la enseñanza de sexto primaria, un grado que ha atendido en diversas ocasiones y que le apasiona por la oportunidad de guiar a sus estudiantes en una etapa crucial de su formación.

Cuenta con el título de Maestro de Educación Primaria Bilingüe Intercultural y ha completado su pensum en Ingeniería en Sistemas, a la espera de presentar su tesis. Su motivación en la docencia radica en descubrir y potenciar las habilidades de sus alumnos, asegurando que puedan desenvolverse con éxito en su futuro académico y profesional.

Uno de sus mayores logros ha sido la gestión e implementación de proyectos de impacto, como la iniciativa de inclusión con la metodología DUA, la instalación de filtros de agua en cada aula y la creación de una biblioteca digital (RACHEL). Estos esfuerzos han transformado la experiencia educativa en su escuela, garantizando acceso a recursos tecnológicos y agua potable para los estudiantes.

Además de su labor docente, ha sido parte de la Directiva Magisterial de Santiago Atitlán y actualmente forma parte de la Cooperativa Xocomil, contribuyendo a la gestión comunitaria. Su ingreso a ConnectED representa una oportunidad para seguir impulsando cambios sostenibles en la educación y lograr proyectos que beneficien a su escuela y comunidad de manera significativa.

 


 

Francisco Sapalú Sosof is an educator committed to improving education in his community. After serving as a school director, in 2025 he returns to teaching sixth grade, a level he has taught multiple times and
enjoys for the opportunity to guide students through a crucial stage in their education.

He holds a degree as a Bilingual Intercultural Primary Education Teacher and has completed coursework for an Engineering degree in Systems, pending his thesis presentation. His passion for teaching lies in discovering and nurturing the talents of his students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic and professional futures.

One of his most significant achievements has been leading and implementing impactful projects, such as
the inclusion initiative using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) methodology, installing water filters in every classroom, and creating a digital library (RACHEL). These efforts have transformed the educational experience in his school, providing access to technology and clean drinking water for students.

Beyond the classroom, he has served on the Santiago Atitlán Teachers’ Board and is currently a member of the Xocomil Cooperative, contributing to community management efforts. Joining ConnectED represents an opportunity for him to continue driving sustainable changes in education and develop projects that significantly benefit his school and community.
