Diana Vanessa Yoxón Cúmes

Diana Vanessa Yoxón Cúmes es una maestra apasionada por la educación intercultural y el desarrollo de sus estudiantes. Actualmente imparte clases en una escuela multigrado, donde enseña a los niveles de párvulos, primero y tercero primaria. Su amor por la enseñanza y su dedicación la han llevado a completar una Licenciatura en Educación Preprimaria Intercultural con Énfasis en Educación Bilingüe en el año 2024.

Con 19 años de experiencia docente en el Ministerio de Educación, Diana ha confirmado su vocación y compromiso con la enseñanza. Considera fundamental la actualización constante de los docentes y la incorporación de tecnología en el proceso educativo para brindar mejores oportunidades a sus estudiantes.

A lo largo de su trayectoria, ha vivido momentos significativos al interactuar con sus alumnos, colegas y padres de familia. Destaca el cariño y la confianza que recibe de las madres de familia, quienes colaboran activamente en el bienestar de la escuela y de sus hijos. Ha trabajado con diversas organizaciones y ONG como Lápices de Promesa, Mil Milagros, Visión Guatemala y Child Aid, buscando fortalecer el desarrollo educativo en su comunidad.

Su integración a ConnectED como Fellow 2025 representa una oportunidad para seguir siendo agente de cambio en su comunidad. Con entusiasmo, colabora con autoridades comunitarias, municipales y educativas para impulsar el desarrollo de la educación en su entorno. Para Diana, la educación es su compromiso de vida, y ser parte de este proceso de transformación la llena de orgullo y motivación.

Diana Vanessa Yoxón Cúmes is a teacher passionate about intercultural education and the development of her students. She currently teaches in a multigrade school, working with preschool, first, and third-grade students. Her love for teaching and dedication led her to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on Bilingual Education in 2024.

With 19 years of teaching experience in the Ministry of Education, Diana has confirmed her vocation and commitment to education. She believes continuous teacher training and the integration of technology in education are essential for providing better opportunities to students.

Throughout her career, she has had significant moments interacting with students, colleagues, and parents. She appreciates the warmth and trust she receives from mothers who actively collaborate for the school’s well-being. She has worked with various organizations and NGOs such as Pencils of Promise, Mil Milagros, Vision Guatemala, and Child Aid to strengthen educational development in her community.

Becoming a ConnectED Fellow in 2025 represents an opportunity for her to continue being an agent of change. She enthusiastically collaborates with community, municipal, and educational authorities to promote educational development in her area. For Diana, education is her lifelong commitment, and being part of this transformation process fills her with pride and motivation.
